What we provide
In the heart of the Te Awamutu community, Freeman Court has a strong legacy of making sure independent living is affordable and a little easier for local older people. Up to 36 residents enjoy their lives while finding peace of mind knowing support is there if needed.
Independence and support
Freeman Court encourages independent living and wellbeing for as long as possible within a safe and secure environment.
If, at any stage, you need extra support with day-to-day activity such as showering or dressing, we can assist you to arrange home help. This is usually at no additional cost.
Your room and facilities
At Freeman Court, residents each have their own single room with comfortable bedroom furniture, heating, and opening windows. Everyone has access to communal areas, including lounges, courtyards and dining.
Respite residency
From time to time, some of our rooms may be available for short term respite. People who stay for respite are entitled to the same services and benefits as permanent residents.

Costs and payment
Board is paid weekly, which includes three home cooked meals each day, morning and afternoon tea, and all hot drinks throughout the day. Board covers weekly room cleaning and linen charges and laundry. Accommodation subsidies are available (please contact WINZ).
The weekly board for a standard room is $465.00, and for an ensuite room is $573.00 (both prices include gst).
Respite care is on a case-by-case basis and dependent on room availability. The fee is $200 + gst per day. If someone is referred by WDHB, fees are discussed per individual and depend on the clients need. A bond fee applies.
